Concentration #3
How Are You Doing?
This picture is of my friend Hope with a thumbs-up. I mixed acrylic paints with gel medium so the paint would be similar to oils. There is texture in the background because the paint lifts off the surface and there is value in her hair with the gold streaks and dark strokes. Unity appears with the streaks of yellow in the background complementing the purple shirt. Pattern is present with the repeating 'HELP' on her shirt. She is being asked if she is doing well and she has a thumbs-up and is turning away with tears in her eyes. Her shirt says help because she is not doing well. This relates back to my concentration statement of deceivers because she is trying to appear better than okay.

Concentration #2
Love Me Too
This picture is of my friend Rachael in front of neon letters that are supposed to say “Love Me Too.” Every aspect of the picture pretty much has blue pushed into it somehow. There is definitely color in the piece since everything is blue. I also used value in her hair as it becomes lighter toward the ends and also in the neon lights lights as the blue light reflects off the wall. I used movement in the strokes of her hair and face. There is unity present because the entire picture is brought together through the use of blue. My friend is in front of this sign because she wants to loved/appreciated/included. This ties into the statement of deception because the background tells the viewer exactly what she is thinking and what her face alone may not.

Concentration #1
A Look Into My Mind / Gitana
This picture is of my friend Grace Couri as a gypsy with a crystal ball. She wears a gold vest with a white shirt and a dark green skirt. She has a red headband and gold earrings and two necklaces and one has what is supposed to be a lucky rabbit's foot. I used acrylic paint and used value in the white shirt and the curtains. I also used color because I used purple and red in almost every aspect of the piece.. I used movement in the curtains and balance because I tried to make everything proportionate. My friend is looking into the crystal ball and seeing herself as extremely stressed/saddened. This ties into my concentration statement of deceivers because she appears almost relaxed but the crystal ball shows her completely different.
